Yahoo Mail setup guide

Connect a Yahoo Mail account via IMAP/SMTP

Server Settings

IMAP hostimap.mail.yahoo.com
IMAP port993 (SSL/TLS)
SMTP hostsmtp.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP port465 (SSL/TLS)

Setup Steps

  1. 1

    Sign in to your Yahoo Account, go to Account Security (login.yahoo.com/account/security)

  2. 2

    Enable 2-step verification if not already enabled

  3. 3

    Scroll to "App passwords" and click "Generate app password"

  4. 4

    Select "Other app" from the dropdown and type "TELVRIX"

  5. 5

    Copy the generated App Password

  6. 6

    In Yahoo Mail settings, go to More Settings → Mailboxes → your account → enable IMAP

  7. 7

    In TELVRIX, select "Yahoo Mail" as your provider

  8. 8

    Enter your Yahoo email address and the App Password

Known Limitations

  • App Password required — standard Yahoo password blocked for IMAP
  • IMAP must be enabled in Yahoo Mail account settings
  • Yahoo Business/Plus accounts use different settings
